Lt. Gov. Adam Gregg of Iowa announced his resignation on Tuesday, concluding more than seven years of service. Gregg cited a new career opportunity that will allow him to focus more on his family as his reason for stepping down.
Governor Kim Reynolds confirmed the resignation, praising Gregg as a dedicated husband and father. 'There is nothing more important to him than his family,' Reynolds said.
The governor plans to appoint a successor later this fall, as required by Iowa law. Gregg was previously appointed as lieutenant governor in May 2017 and has served two full terms since.
