BJP MLA Sureshvar Singh has filed an FIR against his former gunner and a homeguard, claiming they threatened his life.
The MLA, representing the Mahsi Assembly constituency in Uttar Pradesh, reported the incident to the district magistrate and the superintendent of police, leading to the FIR and subsequent suspension of the accused individuals.
Mahsi Circle Officer Rupendra Gaur detailed that Head Constable Anand Rai, formerly Singh's gunner, was on reserve duty when the incident occurred at the Hardi police station. Rai reportedly abused and threatened to shoot the MLA and his family. Homeguard Abul Khan allegedly supported Rai instead of intervening. A video of the episode prompted Singh to act, resulting in the registration of a case under relevant sections of the BNS and the suspension of both officers.
