A MiG-29 fighter aircraft from the Indian Air Force (IAF) crashed on Monday night in Rajasthan's Barmer due to a 'critical' technical snag. Fortunately, the pilot ejected safely, and no loss of life was reported.
A senior IAF official confirmed the safety of the pilot and indicated that a Court of Inquiry would be conducted to determine the cause of the crash. 'The pilot is safe. There was no loss of life or property on the ground,' he said.
The IAF provided an update on social media platform X, confirming the incident occurred during a routine night training mission. Barmer SP Narendra Meena also confirmed that the crash site was away from populated areas, with no casualties reported.
