A top US diplomat announced plans to strengthen ties between the US and Bangladesh's interim government on Monday, focusing on a range of issues such as health, education, labor, governance, and the Rohingya crisis.

During a meeting with Chief Advisor Muhammad Yunus, US Embassy Charge d'Affaires Helen Lafave indicated that the consular services in Dhaka would resume promptly to expedite visa processing. She also noted thousands of Bangladeshi students are enrolled in US universities.

Chief Advisor Yunus expressed gratitude for the US support for over one million Rohingyas in Cox's Bazar camps, confirming his government's commitment to deep reforms and human rights.
