Russia Launches Devastating Missile Barrage on Kyiv: An Overnight Onslaught

Early Monday, Russia launched a coordinated attack of drones, cruise, and ballistic missiles targeting Kyiv, resulting in multiple explosions. Kyiv's emergency services responded to the situation as residents sought shelter. Ukrainian air defenses intercepted many missiles, while Kharkiv also experienced strikes. The assault follows significant Ukrainian drone attacks on Russia.

Early Monday saw Russia orchestrate a coordinated assault on Kyiv with drones, cruise missiles, and ballistic missiles, according to Ukraine's air force. The Ukrainian capital was rocked by several series of explosions, which sent residents scrambling for bomb shelters.

Kyiv Mayor Vitalii Klitschko confirmed that emergency services were dispatched to the Holosiivskyi and Solomianskyi districts of the city. In the Shevchenkivskyi district, debris injured one person during the attack. Andrii Yermak, head of the Presidential Office, vowed a retaliatory response.

Ukraine's air defenses managed to intercept and destroy many of the missiles fired, as well as a drone. In Kharkiv, Ukraine's second-largest city, explosions were also reported. The attack follows one of the largest Ukrainian drone offensives targeting Russian regions, which Russia claims to have intercepted.
