Om Prakash Mathur will be felicitated at a grand event on Tuesday for his recent appointment as the Governor of Sikkim. The ceremony will be attended by a host of prominent political figures including Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, former Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje, and BJP State President Madan Rathore.
Mathur, who has a long-standing association with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) since his childhood, took over the gubernatorial role on July 31. He has been a dedicated 'pracharak' and played a significant role in party activities both at the state and national levels, according to BJP leader Arun Chaturvedi.
Hailing from Bali in Rajasthan's Pali district, Mathur also has a notable history of activism, including imprisonment during the Emergency. As a founder member of the Kisan Sangh, he has been a vocal advocate for farmers and significantly contributed to the expansion of BJP in Rajasthan and across the nation.
