National Conference (NC) vice president Omar Abdullah on Friday discussed the challenging decision of forming a pre-poll alliance with Congress for the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections at the NC headquarters Nawa-i-Subah.
Abdullah explained that the alliance required the NC to sacrifice several seats, but stressed it was necessary for the collective fight for the restoration of rights in Jammu and Kashmir.
He underscored that defeating the BJP was the primary motive, particularly in regions like Jammu, Poonch, and Rajouri, and highlighted that the alliance already had a significant impact with Ghulam Nabi Azad's decision to refrain from campaigning for the DPAP.
