Vice President Kamala Harris has disclosed that President Joe Biden personally informed her on a Sunday about his decision not to seek reelection, instead endorsing her for the position. Harris shared this revelation during her first major television interview of the presidential campaign on Thursday.
During the interview, Harris, 59, mentioned she was with her family when she received Biden's call. She recalled, 'I was having bacon with my baby nieces when the phone rang. It was Joe Biden. He told me about his decision, and when I asked if he was sure, he confirmed it.'
Last month, the 81-year-old Biden announced his withdrawal from the presidential race, stating it was in the Democratic Party's best interest. Reflecting on Biden's tenure, Harris emphasized his transformative impact on infrastructure and industry investment, praising his selflessness and service to the American people.
