Trinamool Congress leader Sagarika Ghose has come down hard on Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh, criticizing his remarks on West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's handling of protests surrounding a doctor's rape and murder case in Kolkata.
Ghose stated that Singh lacks the moral authority to critique Bengal amidst the ongoing turmoil in Manipur, where thousands remain in relief camps and over 220 people have died due to ethnic violence over the past 18 months.
She lauded the swift action of the Kolkata Police, contrasting it with alleged inaction in Manipur. Singh, meanwhile, had accused Banerjee of prioritizing rallies over action and condemned her provocative statements regarding regional unrest.
