Sharad Pawar, chief of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), recently denied additional security measures suggested by agencies after being accorded a Z-plus cover.

The central agencies increased his protection following a threat assessment, yet Pawar has not been informed about the upgrade's reasoning.

Although the 83-year-old former Maharashtra chief minister rejected further troop deployment and vehicle changes, he approved raising the boundary wall of his Delhi residence.
