Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh has firmly opposed the demand by Kuki groups for a separate administration, asserting his dedication to maintaining the state's unity and identity.
In a recent interview with PTI Videos, Singh underscored Manipur's historical significance and vowed not to allow any dilution of the state's integrity. This marked the first categorical rejection of the Kuki's demand.
At a New Delhi press conference, Kuki-zo representatives advocated for a union territory, citing ongoing strife as justification. However, Singh, accused by some of ethnic bias, highlighted his support for a development package for hilly regions inhabited by Kukis.
