JMM legislator Ramdas Soren was sworn in as a minister in the Hemant Soren-led government in Jharkhand on Friday.

The Ghatshila MLA took over the cabinet position from former chief minister Champai Soren.

At Raj Bhavan, Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar administered the oath in a ceremony graced by CM Hemant Soren, senior JMM alliance leaders, and government officials.

Chief Minister Hemant Soren congratulated Ramdas Soren in a post on X, wishing him success in his new role.

Following the ceremony, Ramdas Soren, along with the CM and senior alliance leaders, visited JMM chief Shibu Soren.

This cabinet induction follows the resignation of Champai Soren, who is set to join the BJP. He resigned citing issues with the state government's policies and operations.

Champai Soren briefly served as Jharkhand's chief minister earlier this year but left the post and the JMM in August after Hemant Soren was released on bail.

Ramdas Soren brings a strong political background, having won assembly elections in 2009 and 2019, and has played a significant role in Jharkhand's political landscape.
