Americans are poised to 'turn the page' on Donald Trump, asserted Kamala Harris, emphasizing the Republican's divisive agenda that 'diminishes the character' of the American people.

In her inaugural substantial TV interview of her presidential run, Harris, 59, highlighted that citizens crave a 'new way forward' as she prepares to face Trump in the November 5 elections.

In a joint interview with running mate Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, Harris stated, 'I believe sadly in the last decade, we have had a former president pushing an agenda that diminishes our character and strength, fracturing our nation.' She believes citizens are ready to 'turn the page' and move forward.

She reiterated her stance on X, condemning Trump's racially charged claims while avoiding direct confrontation, aligning with her campaign strategy to steer clear of identity politics.

Addressing border security, Harris underscored the necessity of consequences for illegal border crossings, showcasing her law enforcement experience. She highlighted the Trump administration's rejection of a border security bill under President Biden's tenure.

Praising Biden, who recently exited the race and endorsed her, Harris pledged to appoint a Republican to her Cabinet if elected, emphasizing bipartisanship in her leadership approach.
