Kamala Harris vowed a tougher approach to migration along the U.S. southern border and said she would not withhold weapons to Israel, in her first interview with a major news organization since becoming the Democratic nominee for president.

In the CNN interview with anchor Dana Bash, Harris aimed to project control over pivotal issues and clearly outline her policy positions ahead of the Nov. 5 Election Day. She stressed the need for comprehensive border legislation to curb illegal migration and underscored her commitment to upholding existing laws.

Aligning closely with President Joe Biden's policies on Israel, Harris dismissed calls within her party to reconsider arms support to Israel, emphasizing the importance of achieving a ceasefire in Gaza. She also addressed economic challenges, pinpointing efforts to combat inflation, and discussed potential bipartisan cabinet appointments to foster diverse opinions in governance. Harris remains confident in her values despite recent policy shifts and expressed optimism about winning over critical swing states.
