Two YSRCP members of the Rajya Sabha, Beedha Mastan Rao Jadhav and Venkataramana Rao Mopidevi, have tendered their resignations.
The resignations were accepted by Vice President and Chairman of the Rajya Sabha, Jagdeep Dhankhar. Mastan Rao, whose term was to end in June 2028, had previously switched from the TDP to YSRCP, and now appears likely to return to the TDP.
Mopidevi, with a term until June 2026, may also rejoin the TDP, according to sources. As a result, the strength of YSRCP in the Rajya Sabha has dropped from 11 to 9, potentially allowing the TDP, a key NDA partner, to gain representation in the Upper House through bypolls.
