In a decisive move, Mayawati was re-elected as the National President of the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) on Tuesday, firmly dispelling any rumors of her retirement from active politics. The announcement followed a national executive meeting held earlier in the day.
Mayawati took to social media to address the speculation, stating, "There is no question of my retirement from active politics. Ever since Akash Anand was positioned as the successor of BSP, casteist media has propagated fake news, urging caution among the people." On Sunday, she criticized Congress and the Samajwadi Party (SP) as 'anti-reservation,' ruling out any alliances with them.
In a series of posts, Mayawati lambasted Congress for not awarding Baba Saheb, Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar, with the Bharat Ratna during his lifetime or after his death, and for not declaring national mourning upon Kanshi Ram's death. She questioned why the Congress did not conduct a National Caste Census when in power, underscoring the BSP's support for such measures. Mayawati also pointed to the silence of Congress, SP, and BJP regarding threats to SC/ST reservations, urging these communities to stand independently rather than align with 'anti-reservation' parties.
