Amid growing speculations about former Jharkhand Chief Minister Champai Soren's political future, he announced on Tuesday that he will join the BJP on August 30. When asked about his plans, Soren responded, 'Yes.'

During his initial visit on August 18, Soren clarified his stance. Initially considering retirement, he decided otherwise due to public support. He contemplated creating a new party but decided to join BJP because of his increasing trust in Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah. Assam Chief Minister Himanta Sarma confirmed Soren's entry to BJP via a social media post, stating that the official induction will happen on August 30 in Ranchi.

Earlier, on Monday, Soren hinted at forming a new party, stating that he felt 'insulted' during his tenure and that multiple options were being considered ahead of the Jharkhand Assembly elections. He listed instances on social media where he was restricted from holding important meetings and was forced to resign, prompting him to seek an alternative political route.

Soren detailed his continuous efforts for tribal, native, impoverished, laborers, students, and backward communities in Jharkhand, stressing his availability to the public regardless of his political position. His formal BJP induction is set for August 30 after his recent meeting with Union Home Minister Amit Shah, confirming his decision.
