Nitin Patil from the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) and Dhairyasheel Patil of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) were elected unopposed to the Rajya Sabha on Monday. These seats were previously held by Piyush Goyal and Udayanraje Bhosale, both of whom emerged victorious in the recent Lok Sabha elections.

Udayanraje Bhosale secured victory from the Satara Lok Sabha seat, while Union Minister Piyush Goyal was elected from the Mumbai North constituency. Their win in the Lok Sabha polls necessitated the Rajya Sabha appointments.

During the day, Nitin Patil accepted his Rajya Sabha appointment certificate. Both the NCP and BJP are integral parts of the ruling National Democratic Alliance.
