Leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, reaffirmed his stance on restoring Jammu and Kashmir's statehood, emphasizing that governing the region from Delhi is illogical. He made these remarks during an interaction with Kashmiri women last week, a video of which was released by the Congress on Monday.
Gandhi criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership, stating that Modi's refusal to listen to others stems from insecurity and weakness. He mentioned that this autocratic approach often leads to problems.
In the same interaction, Gandhi expressed concerns over the unprecedented removal of J&K's statehood and stressed the importance of restoring it to ensure proper representation for the residents of Jammu, Kashmir, and Ladakh. He also highlighted the significance of press freedom and called for addressing systemic issues affecting women's safety and dignity across the region.
