Senior Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Sanjay Singh on Monday leveled accusations against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), calling it a 'use and throw' organization that sidelines political leaders after electoral gains.

This comes in the wake of five AAP councillors defecting to the BJP, a move believed to bolster the saffron party's prospects in the upcoming Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) Standing Committee elections. Singh stated emphatically that those who leave the AAP are 'politically ruined,' citing divine mockery towards defectors.

In response, Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva claimed these councillors faced undue pressure to engage in corruption under AAP. With the new alignments, BJP is vying for a majority in the MCD's 18-member Standing Committee, which could shift the balance of power, given AAP's reduced strength in the MCD from 134 to 127 seats.
