Assam Chief Minister and BJP Jharkhand in-charge, Himanta Biswa Sarma, has urged former Jharkhand Chief Minister Champai Soren and current Chief Minister Hemant Soren to join the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Sarma emphasized that the state's primary issue is the influx of intruders, and BJP is prepared to discuss this with Hemant Soren.
"I want Champai Soren to join BJP to strengthen us, but he is a significant leader. Commenting on him is not appropriate. I also want Hemant Soren to join BJP. BJP signifies patriotism...We are ready to discuss with Hemant Soren to stop intruders in Jharkhand. For us, the country comes first," said Sarma, stressing the importance of addressing intruders to save Jharkhand.
He outlined conditions under which BJP would support the JMM leaders, including providing job opportunities and opposing the treatment of Hindus during Muharram. Sarma criticized Congress for not releasing the caste census data from Karnataka and urged the party to avoid double standards. He further noted BJP's consistent support for caste census in Bihar and emphasized justice for SC, ST, and OBC communities.
