Opposition Leader Detained Amid Airport Protest in Maharashtra

Maharashtra Legislative Council Opposition Leader Ambadas Danve was detained on Sunday following a protest at the Chikalthana Airport in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. Danve, along with his supporters, was protesting police inaction in the Badlapur incident, where a school attendant allegedly assaulted two kindergarten girls.
Speaking to the media, Danve questioned the excessive use of force by the police against peaceful protesters. As Prime Minister Narendra Modi was scheduled to attend a nearby event in Jalgaon, security arrangements were heightened, leading to the detainment of Danve and his supporters. They were later taken to the MIDC Cidco police station.
The Shiv Sena (UBT) leader also criticized law enforcement for their delayed response in arresting the accused in the Badlapur incident. The opposition has been vocal against the government's handling of the case, accusing it of negligence.
