Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister and senior BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis on Saturday accused the Congress of collaborating with divisive forces to gain an advantage in the upcoming Jammu and Kashmir assembly polls. Fadnavis made these remarks while addressing party workers at the foundation stone-laying ceremony of the BJP headquarters in Goa.
The Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections for its 90 seats will take place in three phases on September 18, September 25, and October 1, with results to be announced on October 4. Notably, these elections are the first since the abrogation of Article 370 in August 2019.
Fadnavis asserted that the Congress had changed its strategy, forming an alliance with the National Conference, which advocates for the restoration of Article 370. He emphasized that the BJP must remain vigilant to counter the negative narratives purportedly spread by anarchist forces aligned with the opposition, particularly around the Lok Sabha polls where the BJP lost its majority with 240 seats.
