NCP (SP) chief Sharad Pawar on Tuesday criticized the Maharashtra government for its handling of the alleged sexual abuse of two kindergarten girls at a Badlapur school, stating it had tarnished the state's image.
Pawar led a silent protest in Pune, denouncing the government's insensitivity. He argued that opposition criticism over the incident was not political maneuvering.
Meanwhile, the BJP also staged a silent protest, accusing the MVA of using this tragic incident for electoral gain ahead of the upcoming assembly elections. The Bombay High Court has halted the MVA's planned 'Maharashtra Bandh' in response to the incident.
