In a move that marks the beginning of a new political chapter, Tamil film actor-turned-politician Vijay unveiled the flag of his political party, Tamizhaga Vetri Kazhagam (TVK), on Thursday. The event took place at the party's headquarters in Panaiyur, near Chennai.

The newly unveiled flag is maroon on the top and bottom, with yellow in the middle, featuring two fighting tuskers flanking the Vaagai flower. This launch also included the official release of the party anthem, signaling TVK's readiness to participate in the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections.

Despite announcing the party in February, Vijay decided not to contest the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. During the flag unveiling, Vijay and his party members took a pledge to honor those who fought for the country's freedom and to advocate for the elimination of caste, religion, gender, and birth-based discrimination. They vowed to work for equal opportunities and rights for all.
