Maharashtra Congress President Nana Patole claimed on Friday that many BJP MLAs are poised to switch allegiances to his party before the upcoming state assembly elections.

Speaking to reporters after welcoming former BJP MP Shishupal Patle into Congress, Patole criticized BJP's coalition, Mahayuti, which includes Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena and Ajit Pawar's NCP, for its growing internal discontent.

Patle accused the BJP of transforming into a party dominated by contractors and traders, losing its connection with farmers and the working class. Patole added that the BJP has deployed central investigative agencies to dismantle opposition parties. He cited the Maha Vikas Aghadi's (MVA) significant win in previous Lok Sabha elections as evidence of BJP's declining influence, with the coalition securing only 17 out of 48 seats.
