Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, in his Independence Day message, warned that 'some forces' are undermining India's brotherhood by imposing their views forcibly. He urged citizens to be ready to make sacrifices to protect the Constitution.
Kharge expressed concern over the government's manipulation of constitutional and autonomous institutions, describing them as 'puppets.' He emphasized that democracy and the Constitution are the shields protecting 140 crore Indians, and vowed to defend them 'till our last breath.'
Highlighting the importance of the opposition, Kharge stated that it acts as 'oxygen for democracy' and raises public issues. He called for vigilance in preserving freedoms granted by the Constitution and reaffirmed the Congress Party's commitment to fighting unemployment, inflation, poverty, corruption, and inequality.
