Vice President Kamala Harris' pursuit of the White House is receiving significant backing from Paul Weiss, a prominent law firm linked closely to the Democratic Party.

Favored by Big Tech and Wall Street, Paul Weiss employees have donated more to Democratic candidates this election cycle than any other law firm. Additionally, a partner from the firm has assisted Harris with debate preparations, while firm Chairman Brad Karp is also rallying legal professionals to support the vice president. Recently, Karp initiated a legal community fundraising campaign for Harris, contacting nearly 300 corporate lawyers, many of whom had supported her 2020 presidential bid. Over half of the lawyers on the list are from Paul Weiss.

Such relationships between law firms and political candidates, particularly with Harris, who has a legal background, are common. However, advocacy groups express concerns that corporate-tied funders could exert undue influence, potentially steering Harris away from Biden's business-chafing policies. Jeff Hauser, founder of the Revolving Door Project, highlighted the potential conflicts of interest.
