With the Jharkhand Assembly elections approaching, Assam Chief Minister and BJP's election co-incharge Himanta Biswa Sarma met with state BJP president Babulal Marandi and All Jharkhand Students Union (AJSU) president Sudesh Mahto. Sarma affirmed the importance of AJSU as a crucial component in their electoral strategy. "Everything is fine, we will fight the elections well," Sarma stated.

Sarma also convened with BJP leaders at former state minister Nilkanth Singh Munda's residence in Ranchi. The meeting saw the presence of key figures such as LoP Jharkhand Legislative Assembly Amar Kumar Bauri, former minister and BJP MLA Bhanu Pratap Shahi, and MLA Amit Mandal. During his previous visit on August 2, Sarma emphasized the BJP's readiness and the importance of winning the elections for Jharkhand's future.

Addressing party workers, Sarma praised their enthusiasm and commitment, urging them to work tirelessly. "For a better future in Jharkhand, we must win the assembly elections," he declared. Sarma also accused 'Bangladeshi infiltrators' of encroaching on tribal lands, criticizing the administration for not enforcing court orders to return land to tribal families. Jharkhand's assembly polls, scheduled for 2025, will coincide with elections in Haryana, Maharashtra, and Jammu and Kashmir.

In the 2019 assembly elections, the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) in alliance with the Congress and Rashtriya Janta Dal (RJD) secured a majority with 47 seats in the 81-member house. The term for the existing Jharkhand Legislative Assembly concludes in January 2025, with the Election Commission already initiating preparations for the upcoming polls.
