NCP (SP) leader Salil Deshmukh, son of former Maharashtra home minister Anil Deshmukh, has accused the BJP of shielding former Mumbai police commissioner Param Bir Singh from arrest by the NIA in the 'Antilia' terror case.
Deshmukh claims Singh was the mastermind behind placing a vehicle with explosives near Mukesh Ambani's Mumbai residence and was involved in the vehicle driver's death. He alleges that Singh, who was suspended by the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government for his role, was protected by the BJP and used to levy accusations against Anil Deshmukh.
Salil Deshmukh responded to Param Bir Singh's recent comments that Anil Deshmukh pressured him to file false cases against BJP leaders. Meanwhile, Maharashtra's Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Singh refute these allegations.
