Kamala Harris Surges Ahead of Trump in Key Battleground States
Vice President Kamala Harris leads former President Donald Trump in crucial states, as per polls by the New York Times and Siena College. Harris's entry has revitalized the Democratic campaign after President Joe Biden's faltered bid. Harris has expressed strong views on Palestinian human rights amid U.S. support for Israel’s war in Gaza.
Vice President Kamala Harris is currently leading former President Donald Trump in three critical battleground states - Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, and Michigan - by four percentage points according to recent polls from the New York Times and Siena College.
These polls, conducted from August 5-9, indicate Harris holds a 50% to 46% lead over Trump among likely voters in these states, with a sampling error margin of around 4-4.8 percentage points. In total, 1,973 likely voters were interviewed.
Harris's campaign has gained traction following President Joe Biden's exit from the race on July 21, who endorsed Harris after a poor debate performance. This has revitalized a Democratic campaign that was facing significant challenges, particularly due to Biden's stance on Gaza, leading to opposition from various groups.
