SAD leader Harsimrat Kaur Badal launched a scathing attack on the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Friday, branding it the most corrupt party in India. Her remarks follow the Supreme Court's decision to grant bail to Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia.
Badal criticized the AAP government in Punjab for adopting the same excise policy as implemented in Delhi under Arvind Kejriwal's administration, questioning why no action has been taken against Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann. She stressed that Sisodia's bail does not constitute a clean chit for AAP's alleged corruption.
The Supreme Court imposed several conditions on Sisodia's bail, including the surrendering of his passport and a prohibition on influencing witnesses. Delhi Environment Minister and AAP leader Gopal Rai welcomed the verdict, claiming it reflects an opposition to dictatorship. Simultaneously, Badal condemned the BJP for its approach to the Waqf (Amendment) Bill, 2024, accusing it of polarizing politics. The bill has faced significant opposition, but Minority Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju agreed to refer it to a Joint Parliamentary Committee for detailed scrutiny.
