Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar has confirmed that the three ruling allies in the state will maintain their current constituencies for the upcoming assembly elections, while also being open to seat exchanges if necessary.
Pawar's Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), part of the Mahayuti alliance, alongside Shiv Sena and BJP, is ready to finalize the seat-sharing formula soon.
Speaking to reporters in Nashik during the launch of his party's Jan Sanman Yatra, an outreach initiative, Pawar also addressed the complex matter of Maratha reservation, emphasizing his party's intent to avoid displeasing any community. He recalled that a previous state legislature's law on Maratha reservation failed judicial scrutiny.
