Gujarat Tops SDG Index, CM Bhupendra Patel Hails Healthcare Milestones

Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel on Tuesday expressed immense joy over the state's number one position in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) index unveiled by Niti Aayog. Patel highlighted the state's remarkable achievements in reducing maternal and child mortality rates.

In a statement on social media platform X, Patel remarked, "It is a matter of great joy and pride for Gujarat that the state has remained first in the country in the health facility and well-being sector for the second consecutive time in the SDG index announced by Niti Aayog." He credited the success to improved healthcare services and a significant increase in medical and paramedical manpower.

The Chief Minister commended Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership for the state's progress and declared the Gujarat government's commitment to world-class health facilities. Additionally, under the 'Ek Pedh Maa Ke Naam' campaign, Patel spearheaded the planting of over 3.15 lakh saplings across Anganwadis for environmental conservation.
