The political landscape in Bangladesh dramatically shifted as Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina resigned, paving the way for an interim government to take over, announced Army Chief General Waqar-uz-Zaman in Dhaka. The announcement follows massive anti-government protests that have resulted in over 100 deaths in just two days.

Sources also noted that Hasina has temporarily taken refuge at the Hindon airbase near Ghaziabad before continuing her journey to London.
