Massive Drone Barrage Targets Multiple Russian Regions
Ukrainian forces launched a large-scale drone attack on several Russian regions, causing damage to warehouses and residential buildings. Russia's Defence Ministry claimed 75 drones were intercepted, while Ukrainian forces targeted an airfield and fuel depots. Various governors confirmed the attacks and subsequent fires in their respective regions.
Russian officials on Saturday said Ukrainian forces overnight targeted multiple Russian regions with a massive drone barrage.
According to a statement from Russia's Defence Ministry, air defence systems "intercepted and destroyed" a total of 75 drones over several regions near the Ukraine border, including Belgorod, Krasnodar, Kursk, Oryol, Rostov, Voronezh, and Ryazan. One drone was also shot down over the Azov Sea.
The Rostov region saw the most activity, with 36 drones intercepted. Rostov Gov. Vasily Golubev revealed that 55 drones targeted the region, causing damage to warehouses in Morozovsk and Kamensky districts.
Ukraine's General Staff reported hitting ammunition depots and fuel facilities in Morozovsk, Belgorod, Kursk, and Rostov. Belgorod Gov. Vyacheslav Gladkov confirmed an oil depot strike, resulting in an explosion and fire that was quickly contained.
In the Oryol region, two drones crashed into a high-rise residential building, briefly igniting a fire. Oryol Gov. Andrei Klychkov reported one person sought medical assistance following the attack.
