Imprisoned former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan has given the green light for forming a 'grand opposition alliance' aimed at challenging the sitting government, as confirmed by senior PTI leader Asad Qaiser.

Qaiser revealed that the initiative seeks to expand the existing Tehreek Tahafuz-e-Ayin-e-Pakistan platform. The move was decided in a meeting with Khan at Rawalpindi's Adiala Jail, where he has been held since last August.

The PTI has planned an upcoming rally in Swabi to strengthen the call for Khan's release and to protest against the PML-N-led coalition government's policies, including exorbitant electricity bills.
