Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge has criticized the Modi government, accusing it of engaging in 'tokenism' through its 'so-called' employment-linked incentive schemes. He stated that the 'B' in the Union Budget stands for 'betrayal.'

Kharge contended that the Budget only forces internships on the industry, offering no long-term solutions for job creation. He dubbed the Budget as 'Kursi Bachao Budget' and urged the government to provide clarity on its alleged tokenism.

The Congress leader argued that the employment-linked incentive schemes fail to offer a sustainable solution for youth and industry, questioning the absence of stakeholder consultation and the inclusion of a Public Sector component.
