The BJP on Wednesday accused the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) of intentionally creating divisions among communities in Maharashtra and halting welfare schemes. State BJP president Chandrashekhar Bawankule condemned the MVA—comprising Shiv Sena (UBT), NCP (SP), and Congress—terming it a 'scheme stopping alliance.'

Bawankule outlined the BJP's roadmap for the state assembly elections, scheduled for October, while speaking to reporters. The BJP, a part of the ruling Mahayuti alliance, had faced significant losses to the MVA in the recent Lok Sabha polls, losing multiple seats in Maharashtra.

'The BJP will now reach out to voters who were misled by MVA's false propaganda during the Lok Sabha elections. Although we could not convince voters then, we will do so now,' Bawankule said.

He accused the former MVA government led by Uddhav Thackeray of discontinuing various schemes initiated by the central government. 'MVA is a 'scheme stopping alliance.' They had created a rift among various communities in Maharashtra and are attempting to do so again,' he stated.

Bawankule affirmed that BJP plans to engage with voters at the booth level, urging them to trust only the 'double engine government' for the development of Maharashtra. 'The MVA stands no chance of regaining power after the assembly polls. However, if they do, they will halt all schemes led by PM Modi at the Centre and Chief Minister Eknath Shinde in the state,' he added.

To bolster support, the BJP plans to organize 69 meetings at the district level from August 3 to 5, followed by 759 meetings at the local level between August 9 and 11. Additionally, Bawankule denied allegations of BJP workers joining agitators at Uddhav Thackeray's residence during a recent protest by Maratha activists.

'Uddhav Thackeray kept the Maratha delegation waiting for several hours and even after the meeting, the MVA did not clarify their stance on the Maratha OBC quota issue,' Bawankule concluded, challenging the Congress party to pass a resolution on the matter.
