In a sharp critique, the National Conference accused the ruling BJP of misleading the public with false claims of development in Jammu and Kashmir. The opposition party stated that the proxy government has fallen short in delivering essential services such as water and electricity.

Addressing reporters at a public rally in Samba, National Conference additional general secretary Ajay Kumar Sadhotra lambasted the government for its neglect of the Union Territory in the recent budget announcement. Sadhotra highlighted a severe shortage of power, water supply, and medical facilities, as well as an understaffed public sector.

Echoing his sentiments, provincial president Rattan Lal Gupta urged the central government to reconsider the special budget packages for states like Bihar and Andhra Pradesh, arguing that Jammu and Kashmir requires urgent financial support to rebuild its infrastructure, weakened by decades of terrorism. He called for the public to support the National Conference in the upcoming Assembly polls.
