Puducherry Assembly Speaker R Selvam and Ministers K Lakshminarayanan and Sai J Saravanan Kumar honored Edouard Goubert on his 130th birth anniversary by paying floral tributes to his statue.

Various legislators and organization delegates also joined in commemorating the veteran Congress leader.

Goubert, the first chief minister of Puducherry post-French regime, was a fearless and accessible leader known for his philanthropic efforts, notably founding JIPMER with support from Nehru.
