Sanjay Raut, a leader of Shiv Sena (UBT), underscored the dominance of Chhatrapati Shivaji's legacy in Maharashtra, contrasting it with the 'Aurangzeb Fan Club' influence in Gujarat. Raut asserted that Uddhav Thackeray, much like his father Bal Thackeray, is deeply loved by the people of Maharashtra.
Raut's comments came in response to Union Home Minister Amit Shah's recent statements at a BJP convention in Pune. Shah had critically referred to Uddhav Thackeray as the head of the 'Aurangzeb Fan Club', accusing him of associating with individuals who supported controversial and criminal figures.
The Rajya Sabha member highlighted the foundational ideals of Shiv Sena being rooted in Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj's principles. Raut's remarks aim to counter Shah's allegations and reassert the strong cultural and political legacy of Shiv Sena in Maharashtra.
