BJP leader and former Nilgiris MP, Master Mathan, passed away at 91. The party commended his efforts for societal betterment and upliftment of marginalized communities.

A prominent figure in the Badaga community, Mathan died on Friday night due to age-related ailments, according to his family. He is survived by his wife, two sons, and a daughter. The death occurred at his Coimbatore residence on July 26.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his sorrow, highlighting Mathan's dedication to societal service and his role in strengthening the BJP in Tamil Nadu. Modi's sentiments were echoed by BJP President J.P. Nadda, who described Mathan's demise as a significant loss to the party. Tamil Nadu BJP President K. Annamalai also conveyed his condolences, noting Mathan's exemplary work and influence on younger generations.
