Rahul Gandhi, Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, is slated to receive a new residence according to sources. The House Committee has offered him Bungalow No 5 on Sunehri Bagh Road.

Interest in the residence increased after his sister, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, was seen visiting the property. Parliamentary sources confirmed that the bungalow has indeed been offered to Gandhi, and a response from him is awaited.

Gandhi had previously lived at 12, Tughlaq Lane since becoming an MP. Following his disqualification from the Lok Sabha last year due to a defamation case conviction, he moved into his mother Sonia Gandhi's residence at 10, Janpath. Despite his reinstatement, he has continued to live there. Now, as the Leader of the Opposition, he is entitled to a Type 8 bungalow, equivalent to a Cabinet minister's residence.
