Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to preside over the 9th Governing Council meeting of NITI Aayog on July 27, where discussions will center around the 'Vikshit Bharat@2047' vision document. This plan aims to transform India into a USD 30 trillion developed economy by the year 2047.

The Governing Council of NITI Aayog comprises all state chief ministers, lieutenant governors of Union Territories, and numerous Union ministers, with Modi also serving as the Chairman. The vision encompasses various aspects of national development including economic growth, social progress, environmental sustainability, and good governance.

However, the meeting faces controversy as the chief ministers of three Congress-ruled states and several other leaders have announced a boycott, criticizing alleged biases in the Union Budget. West Bengal's CM Mamata Banerjee also canceled her plans to attend. Meanwhile, opposition voices, such as BJD MP Sasmit Patra and JMM MP Mahua Maji, have expressed discontent with the Centre's budget allocations to states.
