The first day of the monsoon session of the Jharkhand Assembly was adjourned on Friday after delivering obituary references for recently deceased eminent personalities. Speaker Rabindra Nath Mahto informed that the session, slated for six days, will include the presentation of several bills and the first supplementary budget for 2024-25.
Mahto highlighted that previous sessions had been productive and emphasized the crucial role of agreement and disagreement in a democratic setup. He praised the conduct of members, noting it as a positive reflection of the state's legislative body.
After paying tributes, the House was adjourned but will reconvene on July 29. The session is expected to be a platform for addressing critical state issues from both the ruling dispensation and the opposition.
