On Friday, YSR Congress Party chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy leveled accusations against Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, claiming that he is evading the presentation of a regular budget due to potential compulsion to include poll promises.
Reddy critiqued Naidu's lack of courage to table a 12-month formal budget, suggesting it would expose the unfulfilled 'Super Six' schemes promised during elections.
Addressing a press conference in Tadepalli, Reddy stated, 'If Naidu presents a regular budget, he has to show the fake promises he made during the polls. If these Super Six promises don't reflect, people will question his integrity.'
The Super Six schemes include a Rs 1,500 monthly pension for women aged 19-59, 20 lakh jobs or Rs 3,000 monthly unemployment aid, free bus travel for women, three free LPG cylinders annually per household, Rs 15,000 yearly for each school child, and Rs 20,000 annual assistance for farmers.
Reddy argued that Naidu is deliberately instilling fear to prevent public protests over unfulfilled promises. Recently, Naidu cited financial constraints for delaying the state budget by two months.
Reddy further criticized the state's direction post-election results, alleging increased incidents of violence and a police department acting as mere spectators under the TDP-led government, in coalition with the BJP and Janasena.
