Danish drugmaker Novo Nordisk, the manufacturer of the popular weight-loss drug Ozempic, reported a minor fire at its research center in Maaloev, northwest of Copenhagen, on Wednesday. The fire has since been extinguished.

'We can confirm that the fire brigade was called to our site in Maaloev earlier today. Smoke was observed coming from the basement of one of our buildings. Everything is now under control,' a Novo Nordisk spokesperson said in an emailed statement. 'This is a minor incident, and not to be compared with the previous,' the spokesperson added.

The fire at the Maaloev research center, Novo Nordisk's largest, took place just over a month after another fire occurred at the company's Copenhagen headquarters on June 18. Additionally, fires were reported at a Novo construction site in Kalundborg on May 16 and at an office building in Bagsvaerd on May 22.
