Lok Sabha MP Supriya Sule on Wednesday lambasted the Budget 2024-25, arguing it failed to address critical issues such as agrarian distress and economic struggles.

Taking part in the House debates, she urged the government to conduct assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir, questioning the delay despite holding general elections there.

Expressing worries about investment, consumption, exports, and fiscal spending, Sule criticized reduced corporate tax rates for not attracting investments as expected. She also highlighted the agrarian crisis impacting rural consumption and expressed concerns over the efficacy of the Make in India initiative in creating jobs.

Sule called for introspection on fiscal deficit management and discussed the need for a national census and constituency delimitation. She questioned the government's fiscal discipline and the effectiveness of incentives like PLI and newly introduced ELI.
