In a recent post on Truth Social, U.S. Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump claimed to have had a "very good call" with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy.

Trump reiterated his promise to end the war in Ukraine before he even takes office in January, should he win the upcoming Nov. 5 election. In his post, he declared that as president, he would "bring peace to the world and end the war that has cost so many lives."

He expressed optimism about both sides coming together to negotiate a deal, despite his limited policy proposals. Trump previously mentioned to Reuters that Ukraine might have to cede some territory to secure peace. Zelenskiy reportedly congratulated Trump on becoming the Republican nominee and condemned the recent assassination attempt against him during their conversation.
